The office chair is out in the studio. The cat tree is in the corner with the desk and printer. The tree, in its box, is out and ready to be unpacked and assembled. The carton of well padded ornaments is out, with the box of stockings. They are all ready for me to attack tomorrow. Make this place festive! If Doc is feeling well enough (he finally caught the Ferret Flu), I will send him to the dollar store for some of those tinsel icicles to hang off the tree and make a general mess. It will go so well with the ornaments. That was the only thing that was missing last year.
Also, we're having company. I'm making cookies for them. I still don't know if I'm going to hide in my room or what. I'm terrified. I don't know why. All they need is beer and weed to be happy. And a comfy warm place. We have all that. If it's mild out, like it is tonight, we can even go out on the patio under the fairy lights and have a hookah.
I wonder if I could get Doc to clean off the dining room table tomorrow. Probably not. It's nice to think about, though.
I was going to start saving up for a DSLR camera. And then I read an article on how DSLRs are going out. I don't know in favor of what. So now I'm thinking I should wait and see if the prices go down. If something else "better" really does come along. I don't need top of the line, I just think I'm ready to graduate to a DSLR. And I'm doing this while Doc is saving for a new laptop for him. And both are pipe dreams because we need to get the truck fixed first and foremost.
An art director on twitter "favorited" a set of my pictures that I did post on in Photoshop. That was a pretty cool thing to happen this week. I really need to get back to that. Especially the cat's-eye-view stuff. The collar cam is full of photos right now. The last time I sent it out was on Evie. So it makes me too sad to think about going through it and deleting and keeping and all of that. I'll just buy a new micro SD card. Evie's photo sets were always the greatest because she spent a lot of time lounging in different places. A lot of pictures are diagonal or upside down. Now I just have Felix and Vader. And Felix bounces when he walks. Vader is more stealthy, but that means lots of photos from the insides of shrubbery.
In case you keep things on the up and up, The Pirate Bay, a well known, nay, the most popular, music/video/software/document/porn torrent site that set itself up in Sweden to avoid prosecution for pirating, was raided in Sweden this week, and all of our favorite torrent sites are down. With U2 about to drop at least 1 other new album, and Bowie with a bloody box set out, and Into the Woods coming out, and Doc's shows not showing up on In Demand, necessitating download . . . argh! Oh, and the sites are recording the IP addys of all who visit the sites. So Blue Max is disconnected.
I have Windows Security on this thing. After the Cox-driven faulty McAfee debacle, I just went with what was on board. I have no idea if I have a firewall or anything. I should probably look that up, except Windows Help didn't successfully load when I did the system restore, and they haven't given me a solution to the problem. Doc is sure it is still infected from before the wipe and reformat. It isn't. It really isn't even buggy. Weird things happen occasionally. But that is true of every system I've ever had.
I think I'm going to go to bed early tonight. I woke up at 11:30 this morning, I was so disoriented. It was way too late in the day to wake up. It was awful. So, goodnight.
