okay, here we go . . .

the disks arrived. they didn't boot up computer1. so plan B. take out the hard drive of computer1 and make it an external hard drive for computer2 and get my data off that way. while i'm doing that, i will install the new hard drive and set that up. and that should take my day. yes yes.

mike did this stuff for a living and he was an idiot. i can do this no problem. will tweet with updates. wish me luck.
