the early afternoon was clouds and light rain, delicious. oh, it seems the clouds are coming back, there goes the sun. it might rain a bit more tonight. nothing heavy enough to stifle the fireworks, just enough to cool it down, and maybe break the oh-so-rare humidity.
for the past 12 years, i have lived this holiday in near silence, as the apartment complex wasn't exactly a mecca for celebration. but today is alive with the scent of grills and the sounds of fire crackers and music and people. it is amazing.
time to go get ready for brooklyn's party. i took a shower earlier to cool down, and i've had my hair pulled back for the past few days and it feels so good to have it down again.
